WSWSS Guidelines for Net Control Operators: The WSWSS sanctions weekly "Nets" on many bands. To expand use on these bands, the Board of Directors has determined that there needs to be some description of accountability and purpose for Net Control Stations to the WSWSS. This is to prevent possible problems and misunderstandings should they arise. We fully realize many nets have been around for quite some time and that many of these nets are presently sanctioned as WSWSS nets. In addition, there are stations from time to time, requesting to "give it a try" being Net Control. Net awards (certificates) for checking into these WSWSS nets has become an important part of the nets. Many people like accumulating these points and awards. It is a great idea. Certificates for 50, 100, 250, 500 & 750 accumulated check-in points have been presented to many members for their efforts. Paul, KA6CHJ has done an incredible job of collecting and organizing several years of data to validate these awards. To be fair to all check-ins on all bands, we request that all net control stations update all of your records and get them to Paul as quickly as possible on a monthly basis as awards are presented every month. Sanctioned WSWSS net recommendations: a) Nets can be conducted on any ham band. b) The net control station can be anyone who wants to do it in coordination with the current Net Control Station. c) The net control stations are representing policies put forth in the WSWSS constitution and bylaws. d) We recommend rotating net control to other stations who wish to give it a try. e) Net Participation Award Program; as long as this program is in effect: *Net control stations are required to keep check-in records and submit them monthly. *If the above information is not maintained and provided to Paul then the net will cease to be sanctioned by the WSWSS. This means simply that checking in for participation points won't be counted for that net and the net control station does not represent the WSWSS. * Membership lists (by call & member number) will be provided to any net control station to facilitate recording check-in information. A computer is not needed to record this information, merely send the forms to Paul every month. You can do it electronically if you want.
